We have refrained from offering a selection of "most recommended" journals just as we have made no attempt to compile a bibliography of the most significant books in the discipline.
Looking at the narrow field of psychology proper, several hundred new titles every year in English alone; once we extend our field of interest to the many associated and marginal disciplines that have bearing on, or are affected by, psychology, the number of books issued every year may well run to 2000 or more, and these include of course contributions in all major languages.
