One of the great restrictions for knowledge sharing is the use of different words and concepts to describe a domain for different systems.
These are used by the KB administrator to update and modify the KB. The available actions are: create KB, open KB, close KB, case library manager (which comprises actions to manipulate the cases in the case library, like adding new cases, removing cases, or changing the status of a case), activate learning (gives the KB administrator an analysis about the contents of the case library), and system settings. The KB comprises four different parts: the case library, which stores the cases of previous software designs; an index memory used for efficient case retrieval; a data type REBUILDER: A CBR Approach to Knowledge Management in Software Design 33 taxonomy, which is a taxonomy of the data types used by the system; and WordNet , which is a general purpose ontology.
